SURFACE PREPARATION

Joints to receive THERMAGROUT should be clean and free from unsound materials, dust, oil, grease and other contaminants to ensure the adhesion properties. Before commencing THERMAGROUT grouting, ensure the tile adhesive is sufficiently cured. Make sure that the tile surfaces are wetted by water chocked sponge for a width of 1” on both side to reduce surface temperature to avoid rapid setting of spillages / excess grout and for easier cleaning of the same.

MIXING GUIDELINE (at 30°C)

250g of THERMAGROUT should be added to about 70 ml of clean water and mixed properly to a thick creamy consistency. Initially the mix may appear dry but do not add more water than specified. As the binder components dissolve it will form pourable slurry.

Above mixing times are based on using 20°c to 27°c temperature mixing water. During usage of higher temperature water for mixing, the mixing time to be shortened appropriately. The above mixing times are indicative only. Where mixing time is critical a trial mix is recommended.

APPLICATION

Apply the grout to the joints with a grouting trowel, squeegee or sponge, ensuring that the joints are completely filled. Compact the grout in the joints and clean off excess with a damp cloth or sponge as the grouting proceeds. Allow the grout to harden sufficiently to prevent removal from the joints when cleaning.

POST CLEANING

At most care shall be taken to wipe off the excess material left on the joint / spillages on tiles immediately as THERMAGROUT is basically a new generation quick setting grout material.
